#104: Murphy's Law or Sod's Law

It's been more than a month...sorry. Murphy said, "Anything that can go wrong, will, at the worst possible time." There are two corollaries to that: "Anything good is either immoral, illegal or fattening" and "Murphy was an optimist".

This month and a half has been one huge example of Sod's Law (the Brit version of Murphy's). Though I'm still here and still chugging along. I'm still writing, still painting and still relatively insane. Christina has started therapies: Speech, Occupational and CBRS (play therapy). Unfortunately, there was a bit of a tiff with the OT...let's just say there was some disagreement with how my house is cleaned and organized. I've had this problem before (with another mom's group) and it just drives me crazy. As a result, we've had to give our cats up to the SPCA. Frank and Jesse have been part of our family for 10 yesrs, but since Jesse has a litter box problem, he had to go. Frank's been with him her entire life, and we couldn't separate them. :(

I really don't need this kind of stress. Christina's been screaming the entire length of the therapy sessions, but she's starting to do what's asked of her even though she's throwing a tantrum the entire time. Though I'm sitting on my hands and "not responding" to her negative behavior (per the therapists' instructions), it's still hard.

Finances have been tough, even on a strict budget. Plus some disagreement with how much we should be paying for said therapies...it's enough to bang my head against the wall.

At least on the good side, Michael's been doing the movements to "The Wheels on the Bus", "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" by himself! His pre-K teacher was in tears of joy the first time he did it at school! :)

So there are still things that make life bearable...but there are time when it's tough to hang on.

I used to have my Little Sabrina listen to "The Wheels on the Bus", "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". They really entertained her.

I'm happy your kids are making progress. Sorry to hear you had to part with your sweet kitty-cats.
